Indian Basmati Rice

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups basmati rice

  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

  • 1/8 tsp ground cardamom

  • 1.5 tsp salt

  • 2.5 cups water

Make

  1. Soak rice in cold water for 20 minutes, then drain thoroughly
  2. Heat vegetable oil over med-high heat. Add cinnamon, cumin, cloves, and cardamom and stirl until combined
  3. Add rice and stir to coat, saute for 2 min
  4. Add salt and water and bring to boil. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes
  5. Remove from heat and fluff
